Estate planning for business owners

For a business owner, a will covers only part of what you own. Assets held in a family trust or company don't pass under your will. Control of a trust depends on its deed. Loan accounts, unpaid trust distributions, shares and super death benefit nominations all need attention too.

What we do

We map who owns and controls each asset in your group. We find the gaps, such as an appointor with no successor, a large loan account or a super nomination that has lapsed. Then we work with your solicitor, who prepares your wills and other legal documents, so your estate plan and your business structure work together.

What you receive

  • A one-page map of your assets, entities and who controls them
  • A list of recommendations for your solicitor
  • The tax consequences of each transfer
Fee

Quoted as a fixed fee. We don't prepare wills or give legal advice. Your solicitor does that.
